Lifeguard Training

Water Park Lifeguard Certification

15 yrs - up

Lifeguarding can be both fun and rewarding. Learn the skills necessary to become a certified American Red Cross Lifeguard. Completion of the Lifeguard Training program certifies you in Water Park Lifeguard & First Aid, CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer.  This is a blended learning class.  Part of your coursework will be done online through American Red Cross.
Prerequisites: 300 yard swim using freestyle & breaststroke, tread water for 2 minutes without using hands, complete a timed swim in under 1 min 40 sec.
Required Supplies - Swim Suit, towel, dry clothes, sack lunch, pen & paper
Optional Supplies - Lap top computer (Lifeguard books are electronic)

Lifeguard Instructor Certification

17 yrs - up

Train instructor candidates to teach Lifeguard Training including: First Aid, CPR for the Professional Rescuer, Lifeguard Management, AED Essentials, Oxygen Administration for the Professional Rescuer, Preventing Disease Transmission, Community Water Safety and Basic Water Rescue. The training prepares instructor candidates by developing their understanding of how to use the course materials and methods, how to conduct training sessions and how to evaluate participants' progress.
Prerequisites: Current Lifeguard certification, must be 17 years of age or older

CPR / AED / First Aid for the Professional Rescuer and Health Care Provider Training

Designed for individuals with a duty to respond to emergencies, this program combines discussions, video and hands-on training. Real-life rescue scenarios reinforce decision-making skills. Course covers how to respond to breathing and cardiac emergencies in adults, children and infants until more advanced medical personnel take over.

Water Safety Instructor

16 yrs- up

Learn to teach children and adults to swim, and give water safety presentations to kids and their parents. It’s a fun and meaningful job that’s in high demand. Plus, Red Cross certification is recognized nationwide so you can work anywhere in the United States. You must attend all classes for certification.
