The JCC Maccabi Games program is an Olympic style competition for Jewish Teens ages 13-16. The event is held in multiple locations throughout the United States every summer and includes social and educational components as well as athletics.
The JCC of Greater Kansas City is excited to announce that it will be sending a delegation to the 2015 JCC Maccabi Games August 2-7, 2015. The JCC Maccabi Games is an Olympic style event for Jewish teens age 13-16 as of July 31, 2015. Participants compete in athletic competitions during the day and take part in social and cultural activities in the evenings. There is also a Games wide community service project that takes place during the week of the Games.
Over 1000 Jewish teens from all over North America and the world will take part in the program at each of several different locations during the summer of 2015. Athletic competitions include boys and girls basketball, soccer, tennis, swimming, golf, track and field, table tennis, dance, girls volleyball and boys baseball.
Two informational meetings will be held - the first on Monday, September 22 and the second on Monday, September 29 - both from 7:30-8:30 pm in Conference Room A at the Jewish Community Campus. Interested parents and athletes (not required to attend) are invited to come to one of the meetings to find out more details about the program.
