Heritage Center 65+ Programs: Fine Art

 

All art classes are ongoing, and can be started at any time. 

Foundations of Art
Level: Beginning
Wednesdays
10 am-12 pm or 12:30 pm - 2:30 pm
Location: Art Room
An introductory art class where students explore a variety of painting, drawing and mixed media techniques to determine their personal areas of interest. Students learn the basics of art through lessons and self-exploration.
Prerequites: None

Ceramics
Level: Beginning to Advanced
Monday 
10 am-11:30 pm

Thursday 
12:30 pm-2 pm
 
Location: Art Room
Students work with raw clay to create individual works through pinch, coil and slab methods. Ceramics are hand-built, glazed and kiln fired.
Prerequisites: None

Painting / Drawing / Portraits
Level: Beginning / Intermediate
Thursdays
10 am -12 pm or 2:30pm - 4:30pm
Location: Art Room
Students choose from a variety of media to create works of art. Students select their own subject matter and work individually.
Prerequisites: None

Advanced Painting / Drawing / Portraits
Level: Advanced
Mondays
12 pm - 2 pm or
 2:30 pm - 4:30 pm 

Location: Art Room
Students use their acquired skills to create works of art in a variety of media. Students select their own subject matter and work individually.
Prerequisites: Knowledge of basic skills and high level of artistic proficiency.
