Announcements & Closings:

Recollections is an intergenerational initiative in which young adults capture on videotape the compelling emotional force and wisdom of the sages in our community. Their engagement motivates Jewish students to explore—and carry on –treasured  Jewish stories, traditions and values that are particular to their own families…and those who share their memories are given a copy of the videotape, which, they tell us, becomes a family heirloom.

“I can’t tell you how meaningful this gift is that you gave our family,” said Floriene Lieberman, whose husband, George, was a Recollections interviewee. “George popped in the DVD when the family was gathered for Thanksgiving, and I had tears in my eyes watching all my grandchildren hear him talk about the Jewish values and memories that are most important to hi. It was the first time I saw the tape and it was so powerful, so moving. My daughter is making copies for everyone!”

Recollections is made possible by generous funding from the Flo Harris Foundation and the Sam Gould Foundation.

We're forming a new team of teen videographers NOW!  If you or someone you know is interested in learning how to use a video camera and how to conduct interviews, while hearing the real-life stories of our community sages and receiving community service hours, please contact:
